Praxis Institute for Social Justice recently received this anonymous e-mail, originally written in Spanish and translated below (the original Spanish version is included further down):

“what’s wrong with you? are you promoting webpages with communist tendencies? if that’s so, you will have to investigate your sources, the page http://fujimoriontrial.org/ has a subversive, pro-communist nature, and if you keep this site we will have to inform organizations so that they investigate, this site only defends terrorists and terrorism is condemned worldwide.”

We have decided to post this note on the blog since it touches on important questions surrounding Fujimori’s trial and Peru’s effort to deal with its past, as well as the global importance of . Furthermore, the issue of terrorism We encourage comments, either on your own topic or one of the following:

– Why is the label “terrorist” still so powerful, so paralyzing, when used as a means of silencing an opinion or information that is not approved of ?

– Is this type of censorship necessary? Is it democratic?

– Who is to be considered a terrorist? Do terrorists have rights?

Praxis Institute for Social Justice recibió este mail anónimo recién:
