Anne Fanning

Anne Fanning is a Professor Emerita in the Division of Infectious Diseases and the past Coordinator of the Global Health Initiative in the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Alberta. She has been involved in the clinical care of tuberculosis patients for over 20 years and is strongly interested in the epidemiology of tuberculosis in Canada and globally. Fanning is dedicated to working for global involvement in the fight against infectious diseases. She has worked with the World Health Organization and others to promote education and training in fighting tuberculosis and other communicable diseases. She was appointed a Member of the Order of Canada in 2006 in honour of her efforts to fight tuberculosis.
