Serving Virginia

Many citizens are interested in helping their government through volunteer service, internships and the like.  Appointments to boards and commissions are one traditional way Virginians may serve. Numerous state agencies and institutions also have volunteer and internship positions available; check individual agency Web sites for more information.

Gubernatorial Appointments

If you are interested in a gubernatorial appointment to one of Virginia's many boards and commissions, please check out our Appointments page.

Governor's Fellows

Each summer, the Governor provides hands-on opportunities for selected college graduates to work in various positions within the Governor's Office.  If you are a student interested in learning more about the Governor's Fellows program, please explore our Fellows pages.

Other Volunteer Programs

Finally, if you think you might like to find out more about volunteer opportunities with state agencies and other public organizations, check out the Virginia Corps Web site; it offers both general volunteer opportunities and activities related to public safety and emergency response.
