This project was designed to take forward the innovative use of ICT resources in the pre-school education sector in line with the ICT Strategy for Early Years. It lead to the development of an early years section of the SCRAN website. This provided practitioners and children with pictorial resources that can enrich the early years learning environment and the delivery of the Curriculum Framework for Children 3 to 5. The resources also have the potential to help children and practitioners develop their ICT skills. A training programme was developed to help practitioners make the most of the resource.
FLaT provided support to enable the development of materials and training for the early years. Pilots of the materials and training were undertaken in up to 20 locations to assess their suitability. Resources were developed by SCRAN, in conjunction with HMIE and Learning and Teaching Scotland (LTS).
