Project on Assessment in Scotland - using Information Technology

    Welcome to the Pass-IT Website!

This initiative brings together key players in Scottish education to research and develop ICT-based assessments which teaching professionals can access for both formative and summative purposes. These assessments have been designed for a limited range of National and Higher National provision. By ICT-based assessment we mean assessment of knowledge, understanding and skills using technologies such as the Internet, intranet and CD-ROM. This could cover a wide range of activities, from situations where candidates wordprocess short answer responses or essays and submit these to markers by e-mail, to those where candidates take computer-delivered tests online and their responses are marked through automated marking systems.

This is a research project to explore the applicability and suitability of different forms of technology to enhance the assessment process.

The Pass-IT project is funded by the Scottish Executive.
