Doors Open Alberta

Communities and Events

Learn more about participating Doors Open communities and their events which take place between May and October. Plan a holiday around events! Here you will also find information about Alberta's diverse regions and their special features that continue to shape its people and places.

From May to September, Alberta communities from north to south and from east to west host events that showcase their landmark buildings and places. These fun and free activities help to tell community stories from past to present to future. The common thread is buildings-glorious buildings-that help to define our urban and rural spaces and places.

Each community chooses buildings to showcase and creates fun events for anyone interested in exploring the past and envisioning the future. Learn about each community's residential, commercial, industrial, religious, educational, cultural and institutional buildings-both publicly and privately owned.
