Trade Shows
For a long time, these other shows focused on agriculture, and on the introduction and assimilation of new technologies surrounding that industry. Eventually, however, the exhibition’s stature attracted trade shows presenting on a wider range of topics. The AgriCom, which began operating in 1983, was built to handle a steady stream of independent rental requests. Six years later, Northlands was running the largest indoor exhibition facility in Canada.
Now, the organization plays host to numerous activities—1,500 events in 2002—that attract millions of visitors. Trade shows, art exhibits, and special interest displays are the biggest draws.
Northlands Park also employs a marketing team with expertise in providing maximum public exposure for events held at the AgriCom. This level of service allows the organization to successfully host over 25 trade shows every year. Close to all amenities, including a light rail transit station, the shows hosted at Northlands Park are usually successful if measured by the number of people who pass the grounds each day. Moreover, in conjunction with these shows or separate from them, Northlands also operates a catering service managed by an award-winning chef, and an entertainment bureau.
