Tours

Visitors to Alberta, when surveyed, indicate that heritage attractions are among the top three reasons for coming to the province (the other two reasons are the beauties of the Rocky Mountains and our wildlife). Museums, historic sites, parks and wilderness attractions have spent years developing materials to enable the public to experience our rich heritage.

We are delighted to introduce this material so that visitors can walk and drive around Alberta. The Historic Sites Service and Cultural Facilities Branch of Alberta Community Development has worked for over 20 years to develop historic driving and walking tours with museum and other partners. When this component of www.albertaheritage.net is completed, there will be more than 50 tours to help you to discover Alberta!

To view an example, tour the Bellevue online historic driving tour. We have taken the print booklet and created an online version that is fully searchable.  Please select Driving Tours from the quicklinks menu and discover the beauties and rich history of this Rocky Mountain community.
