The Alberta Central Railway Museum is located at 40 Avenue and 47 Street in Wetaskiwin, 4 miles east on SR 613, then right onto SR 822 for 6 miles, right 1 mile and right 3/4 mile. The road is well signed. The hours of operation are from the Victoria Day weekend to September 15, Wednesday to Sunday, 10 to 4, and all other times by appointment. The governing authority is the Alberta Central Live Steamers Society. The admission fee is $1.00 per person, $10.75 for a full service meal plus a tour, $6.50 for a soup and sandwich plus tour, and $0.75 to $2.50 for a snack from the menu plus a tour.

The collection at the museum includes pre-1965 Canadian Pacific passenger coaches, the locomotive ex-CP 8015, Canadian Pacific yard buildings, and Canadian Pacific tender and rail motor cars. There is a replica station with operating semaphore, telegraph, tools and signage; the museum also has railway artifacts and archives. Several interpretive tours are offered showing the operation of pre-1965 railway technology and communications, work and workers, and the influence of the railway in Wetaskiwin and Western Canada. There is a video railway safety program and train rides are offered.
