Discover the historical, natural and cultural heritage of the City of Calgary and region through the eyes of children and youth.

Where else are cowboy boots and Stetsons considered de rigeur for a night on the town? The cosmopolitan city of Calgary is still a ranch town at heart. It's a city with a proud past that is building an exciting future. Home to many corporate head offices, including those of the province's oil and gas and agricultural industries, Calgary is a boom town that epitomizes the modern West. Calgary's heritage comes to life at places like Heritage Park Historical Village and the Glenbow Museum. The Western Heritage Centre in Cochrane, just west of Calgary, traces the past and present of farming, ranching and rodeo, and is home to the Canadian Rodeo Hall of Fame. Calgary's heritage facilities range from art galleries to zoos. You can study diverse flora and fauna along the Bow River in Canada's largest urban park, Fish Creek Provincial Park.
