About

Who We Are

The best way to connect generations with one another and the places they live in is through discovery, learning and storytelling.

The Heritage Community Foundation, a charitable trust, collectively does what few can do individually — we tell the story of Alberta.

As a central resource, we bring the evolution of Alberta as a unique and dynamic province to life

We are an abundant source for historic facts, stories and images with a focus on youth programs, public education, and research

Our challenge is to make the study, preservation and understanding of Alberta's heritage easily accessible, viable and ongoing

We are pioneers in making heritage accessible via the World Wide Web.

Through partnerships, we draw on the intellectual property of heritage institutions and organizations as well as individuals. We are dynamic partners, always aware of our responsibility to show the many perspectives of Alberta's rich and vigorous past and making it relevant to the present.

We are AlbertaSource.ca — The Alberta Online Encyclopedia ™ — an intellectual legacy project for Alberta's centenary in 2005.

Building knowledge for the next century!
