Teacher Zone

Welcome to the Teacher Zone of the Aboriginal Youth Identity – Health and Wellness Edukit. The lessons are designed to compliment the 2005 Social Studies as outlined by Alberta Education. The focus of the elementary lesson plans is on traditional and natural sources of medical knowledge through Aboriginal groups; especially that of the Canadian parkland and plains biomes. The secondary lessons examine the residential school cultural phenomenon and the traditional binding values of language and social cooperation among First Nations groups. Choose your appropriate level using the Elementary or Secondary links above.
