Booksellers

James Ivan Lintons bedroomBookstores are an excellent resource, existing to provide accessibility to all sorts of literature. Serving the community as more than a place from which to purchase books, bookstores often double as gathering places for the literary community, hosting a variety of events. Bookstores are wonderful sources of information, providing readers with lists of best-sellers and recommendations for titles within each genre.

QuicksilverThe following section will look at a few bookstores within Calgary and Edmonton. Calgary's Pages on Kensington is housed in an historic building with over 10,000 titles available for purchase. During evenings, authors conduct readings to captive audiences within the store. Greenwoods' Bookshoppe in Edmonton offers an extensive collection of books, while Greenwoods' Small World extends the love for the written word to young generations who may choose from a wide selection of children's literature. Audrey's Books in Edmonton is another example of a fine bookshop featuring plenty of titles.
