Alberta Youth Heritage Project

Lucy Baker School

Simon Jeynes, the coordinator for the oral history project, is a proponent for experiential learning and he had introduced this teaching and learning style to the Lucy Baker School and created an oral history component for their course work.

In 1999, Simon Jeynes, the history teacher at Lucy Baker School was nominated for a Governor General's Award for Excellence in teaching Canadian history. He was the only Albertan nominee for that year.
