Community Service
For over a century, Northlands Park has strived to positively impact
the lives of people in Alberta. Part of its stated mission is to be a
foremost provider of community service. Since the 1900s, it has
partnered with Northern and Central Alberta groups such as children’s
aid organizations and post-secondary learning institutions to fulfill
this task.
Community service events produced by the organization have ranged
from annual affairs to one-time collaborations. Monday Morning Magic and
Rodeo Magic are two seasonal activities accompanying other large events
that take place on the exhibition grounds, (Edmonton’s Klondike Days
Exposition and the Canadian Finals Rodeo, respectively). Both of those
community service activities focus on providing stimulating and unique
entertainment to children with disabilities.
In a shared effort with the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation,
Northlands Park is also involved in offering a refreshing approach to
classroom learning through the In Class Education (ICE) School. Over the
years, Northlands Park also extended the breadth of its community
activities to include financial contributions in support of making
post-secondary education accessible. Through annual disbursements,
Alberta students are awarded for their achievements.
The generous spirit of Northlands Park
has assisted individuals, families, and organizations in
thriving. As a result of the organization’s committed efforts, services to
the community have been enhanced.
