Sir Alexander Galt Museum and Archives

Housed in the 1910 Galt Hospital in Lethbridge, a Provincial Historic Resource, the facility is currently undergoing an expansion. Most recently known as the Sir Alexander Galt Museum and Archives, the facility will boast a new discovery hall featuring high-calibre, interactive permanent exhibits exploring the region’s living history, and frequently changing traveling exhibits from across North America; a new education centre with a unique Museum School and Learning Studio; enhanced Archives and Collections facilities providing greater access to research resources; and an unrivalled Viewing Gallery/Event Space overlooking the Oldman River valley.

City of Calgary Archives

The City of Calgary Archives holds all of the permanently valuable records from or relating to the Incorporation of the City of Calgary, including the records of the XV Olympic Winter Games. Civic records date from 1884 to the present and the total volume of all the holdings is 3,500 meters. The reference staff helps visitors to find resources.

Jasper-Yellowhead Museum and Archives

Located in the scenic Rocky Mountain town of Jasper, Alberta, the Jasper-Yellowhead Museum & Archives is dedicated to collect, preserve, and make available for research and exhibition documents and artifacts which illustrate the human history of Jasper National Park and the Yellowhead Corridor.

The Historical Gallery includes exhibits on the fur trade, pioneers, the railways and early tourism in Jasper National Park as well as the history of the town of Jasper.

Millet and District Museum and Archives

The permanent museum display features the Hillside School, “The Kenny Kerr’s Implement Office,” “Barth’s Barber Shop,” and “A four-room house, and the tool shed.” The museum has wheelchair access to the lower permanent displays. The upper level of the museum features a permanent exhibit, "From a Signpost in a Slough," which depicts the history of Millet from 1900 to about 1960. It is enhanced by a mural showing Army, Airforce and Navy personnel, and activities of each. The newest permanent display has over 200 Millet Veteran photographs with their service in formation.

Provincial Archives of Alberta

Provincial Archives of Alberta BuildingThe Provincial Archives of Alberta acquires and preserves records of enduring value, on paper, sound tape, microfilm and microfiche, moving image, or in photographs. The holdings are a significant resource for anyone researching Alberta’s heritage. They include information on businesses, churches, the government, and many organizations, as well as personal manuscripts of noteworthy Albertans.

Peace River Centennial Museum and Archives

This museum affords a rare view of the history of Peace River and its surrounding district. With an emphasis on aboriginal culture, the fur trade and river transportation, the exhibits reveal the rich heritage of the region.
