Our students are getting a chance to involve themselves in the making of history, of understanding that they have a role in documenting and researching… material that could be used by community historians in the future.
It's so much fun finding out about this city's history. Maybe if you live here, you think Edmonton is just a boring place, but there really are a lot of interesting historic sites. It was a highlight being at the discovery of the old fort… we were very lucky.
It's hard to compare this to regular classroom time, but it's certainly more interesting, more hands-on because you're actually recording history.
I'm really interested in pursuing a career in archeology, so I'm trying to get a taste of what it's like. For me, this is a great way to test the waters.
