We are the Clive
School Grade Nine class of 2000/2001. Our class contains
thirty-seven exceptionally bright and enthusiastic youth with above
average academic and athletic skills. We are usually a very focused
group that works well together on any project. Our teachers, Mr.
Trarback (LA and Social) and Mr. Bennett (Math and Science) have
aided in sharpening our skills and challenging us to exceed our
personal and class standards.
Our school in Clive is a
small, 290-student school. We have kindergarten to grade nine, with
split classes in Junior High. Because of our small school, everyone
knows everyone else, and it is not uncommon to see elementary
students run up to give their favorite Junior High student a hug.
The caring staff and accommodating program assist in ensuring
top-notch education. Teachers will stay after class to help a
student who is struggling, has a question, or just wants to talk.
The learning at Clive School is very much hands-on, with numerous
field trips and experiments for the students to become involved in.
The teachers try to give us as many opportunities to do as many
things and develop ourselves in as many areas as we are willing.
Everyone is involved in the community, either through school or
after-school activities. Clive is a rural village, so the subject of
intensive livestock operations is familiar to us all. We have found
that it was very easy to relate to the different points of views and
see that there is no "good" and "bad" when we go to our neighbor's
farms, and hear our own county councilors speak to us. We have
thoroughly enjoyed researching and presenting our project. |
