Fort MacLeod: Project Read

The Partnersship Approach to Literacy program, part of Project Read at Fort MacLeod,  pairs younger readers with teenagers and interested adults to increase reading and literacy skills. Thirty students, twelve from W.A. Day School and eighteen at G.R. Davis School,  were part of this project.

This Reading the Community used interesting artifacts from the Fort Museum to encourage student writing. The student-tutor pairs chose an artifact from the Fort Museum--for example a red serge uniform, an antique comb, an era hat, high-heeled shoes--wrote about the objects. Top]
