About the Heritage Community Foundation

Heritage Community FoundationThe Heritage Community Foundation is a charitable trust whose prime objective is to develop professional heritage-based websites and interactive digital learning resources. The Foundation’s mandate is to link people with heritage through discovery and learning, fostering community identity and pride and encouraging learning between generations.

Some of the Heritage Community Foundation’s accomplishments include:

  • proven track record in Aboriginal partnerships
  • creator of the Alberta Online Encyclopedia - a centennial legacy project
  • research partner for Natures’ Laws – legal codes and traditional governance of Alberta’s First Nations
  • winner of the Alberta Chamber of Commerce Award for Excellence in Youth Employment for 2005
