Dinosaur Provincial Park

Dinosaur Provincial Park was declared a UN World Heritage Site in 1979 because of its location in the Badlands, a stretch of non-arable desertlike land in Southern Alberta; the endangered river habitat along the Red Deer River; and the diverse paleontological record of the dinosaurs left in the area.
