Sharing Circle

A sharing circle is described as individuals sitting in a circle formation to share information or stories. Each person in the circle is given an opportunity to share something while everyone else listens respectfully.

Status Indian

An Aboriginal person who is registered under the Indian Act.

Syllabics

Aboriginal languages are written in a script called syllabics. The symbols give pronunciation of the words.

Symbolism

Traditions

Traditions include the various aspects of a culture that are practiced from one generation to the next. One way that traditions are passed down in Aboriginal communities is through oral history.
