Grande Prairie Regional CollegeThe Canadian Aboriginal architect Douglas J. Cardinal has an international reputation of excellence. He has been called the creator of an indigenous style of architecture that is described as being both organic and curvilinear. Cardinal sees architecture as an art that creates built environments in harmony within urban and natural spaces.

Douglas Cardinal’s largest commission was the Canadian Museum of Civilization in Hull, Quebec. Cardinal has shown his unique style in Alberta buildings like the Grande Prairie Regional College, St. Mary’s Church in Red Deer, the Government Services Centre in Ponoka,
