The words and images of writers, poets and community historians reflect a different
voice than those of historians, and they provide a unique commentary on the
world of the missionary. They speak with a different type of understanding and insight
that draws on historical accuracy and provide glimpses of the human dimension
of the world of the
missionary.
Presented here are excerpts from the work of award-winning Alberta
novelist Fred Stenson, author of The Trade, Edmonton poet Shirley Serviss
and from scholar and United Church of Canada clergyman Rev. Dr. Gerald
Hutchinson.
