Grade 7: Culture examines the concept of culture and its various aspects in relation to First Nation people.  Cultural influences have greatly affected all the First Nation people featured on this site.  Their accomplishments are a credit to their heritage, and much of their work is reflected by their background.  Students in this grade level will have the opportunity to learn about traditions, elders and the past and how they have influenced a famous person.

Grade 8 -9 : First Nations Time Line. The lessons at this grade level focus on a historical time line of many important contributions that First Nations peoples have made since the late 1880’s to present day. The development of a time line will allow students to appreciate the evolution and importance of historical events. Students will also research and investigate how the roles, occupations, and careers of First Nations people have evolved since pre-contact, contact, and post-contact eras. The culminating activity, a class or school career fair, will allow students to be introduced to the variety of careers and occupations available to First Nations people in today’s communities.
