Má Vlast (My Homeland): The Jiraneks In Canada. is the story Michael and Renata Jiranek who came to Alberta in 1968 to escape the Soviet invasion of their Czech homeland. Their dream was to coach figure skating. Within ten years they had taken Kurt Browning, from the small town of Caroline, Alberta and turned him into a national figure skating champion.

Produced by Tom Radford, the film is one of the Scattering of Seeds series from White Pine Pictures. The series celebrates the character of immigrants who staked their futures and those of their families on a second chance in Canada.
