Franco-Albertan Cultural Events 1982-2000
- The Piquette Affair and The Mercure Affair gave public attention to French language rights.
- Francophone schools were opened in many areas where they were needed.
- Francalta was established in 1991. It is the French Internet service at http://www.francalta.ab.ca/
- Francophone senior lodges were opened in Edmonton. Manoir Saint-Thomas and Manoir SaintJoachim opened in the 1980s.
- Jean-Pierre Grenier, a student at Faculté Saint-Jean, designed the Franco-Albertan flag for 1982.
- The Jeux francophones de l'Alberta was begun in 1982. Jeux francophones de l'Ouest were held in Beaumont in 1995.
- Centre de développement musical (CDM – 1995) develops musical talents. They may record in the CDM's new studio opened in 2000.

- 75th anniversary celebrations held at: Bonnyville, Rivière-la-Paix, and the Sacré-Coeur Parish of Donnelly.
- The Lac La Biche Mission was declared a provincial historical site in 1987 and a national historical site in 1989.
- New services were opened in French speaking towns across Alberta. Saint-Isidore opened its medical clinic in 1992. That same year, St.-Paul created its first Centre francophone d'alphabetisation en Alberta. In 1996, Rivière-la Paix organized its first community radio station.
