The Telephone >> Experimental Designs
The success of Morse’s telegraph and the promising outlook in
telephone technology inspired inventors of the day to experiment
with other innovative designs. Inquiring minds devoted themselves to
the new possibilities in the field of communications. The projects
they undertook required skill, patience, a rich imagination, and
hours of diligent work. Although many of the attempted designs were
eventually abandoned in favour of other, more popular ones, their
invention is a witness to the innovative and passionate spirit
possessed by pioneering minds of the time.
