The Kainai Nation - Profiles

Gerald Tailfeathers

The Kainai Nation has survived many challenges to its traditions and culture that would defeat many peoples. This is because with each passing generation, the Kainai Nation has produced in its ranks strong individuals whose personalities and achievements have provided courage, inspiration, and example to their fellows. In this section of the Treaty 7 website, only a very few of these remarkable individuals are mentioned, but their stories resonate with cultural pride for the Kainai.

The name Kainai can be translated into “many chiefs” or “many leaders,” and the individuals profiled in this section are shining examples of the Kainai’s capacity to produce exceptional leaders whose achievements have not only resonated in the Kainai community, but across Canada and around the world.
