Begin the lesson by asking students to discuss what they feel are
important indicators for making contributions to civic life. Provide
students with a
visual organizer such as the Mind map to help them record their
ideas.
Students can be asked to focus on contributions to social, economic
and political life as well as different contexts such as local,
provincial and national. They can be asked to consider how dedication
to a cause and a sense of responsibility can affect the way citizens
act.
