Traditional dance is as unique as the culture that produces it. Traditional French-Canadian dance combines the influence of European balls and celebrations with the rough-and-tumble jigs performed by explorers and voyageurs of early Canada. This common and vital pastime lives on today in a few performance organizations like les Blés d’Or and la Girandole.
