Hospitals and care facilities such as Cross Cancer Institute have volunteers who help staff, bring magazines and books to patients, visit and/or read to patients, and are involved in high profile fundraising initiatives, such as Run for the Cure. Volunteers donate blood, volunteer for clinical studies, and volunteer in extended health-care facilities.
