Hillcrest Mines

This hamlet, named after Charles Plummer Hill, came into being in 1905. It was the scene of one of the worst mining disasters in Canada when on 19 June 1914, an explosion took 189 lives. (see Hillcrest)

Approximately 41 km west north-west of Pincher Creek.
