Jasper House
Category : Historic Site | |
To aid in provisioning the fur trading, a North West Company post was established at Brule Lake around 1813. Later relocated to a site near Jasper Lake, the post, which originally was known as Rocky Mountain House, was renamed Jasper House after Jasper Hawse, the trader placed in charge. The Hudson's Bay Company discontinued operations from Jasper House in 1884. (see Jasper) |
