Barrhead

Category : Town

The post office was established here in 1914 and was named for Barrhead, southwest of Glasgow, Scotland. The directors of the Paddle River and District Co-operative Company suggested the name after the birthplace of an early settler, James McGuire. Barrhead was erected as a village in 1927 and incorporated as a town in 1946.
