The post office opened in 1917 and Alberta Beach was incorporated as a summer village in 1920. The CNoR originally named it after the province of Alberta. It is now a popular summer resort on the southeast shore of Lac Ste. Anne. Since 1999, it has been a village, with year-round services and occupancy.
