Bare Creek

Category : Creek

This feature derives its name from an alleged humorous incident which took place some time prior to 1891. Travelling by means of a democrat wagon, a Mountie and his wife came upon a group of cowhands having dinner. While stepping down from the wagon, the woman's dress became tangled on the foot brake. The camp cook cut her dress to free her, but in the process, her "hindmost extremities" were exposed. The creek has since been known as Bare Creek.

Flows south-east into Lodge Creek, approximately 95 km south-east of Medicine Hat.
