A post office operated here from November 1910 through April 1965 and was named after Bingley, Yorkshire, England. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Ogdesa, two of the early postmasters, suggested this name, after their birthplace.

Approximately 14 km north-east of Rocky Mountain House.
