Aberdeen, Mount

This mountain, which is 3152 m in altitude, was named in 1897 by J.J. McArthur, a D.L.S. member responsible for many of the phototopographical surveys along the railway through the Rocky Mountains. The mountain was named after Lord John Campbell Gordon, the Marquis of Aberdeen, Governor General of Canada from 1893-1898 and a visitor to Lake Louise in 1893.

Approximately 55 km west north-west of Banff.
