This rural municipality was formed as a county in 1958 out of a number of older MDs including all or portions of the MDs of Iron Creek, Cornhill, Patricia, and Beaver Lake. It took its name from the nearby hills and lake. See Beaver Hills and Beaverhill Lake. |
