Future Directions

The Results of LoggingThere is no doubt that as our population grows, so will our need for forestry products. The challenge Alberta faces is balancing growth with responsibility. This section will examine how Alberta is responding to the demand on this growing industry.

There are many things to consider with the responsible development of the forestry industry. Environment, safety and a growing population are just some examples.

Almost everything about the forestry industry is being examined to make it more efficient and more environmentally responsible, from the way trees are grown, to how they are harvested and then used, transforming them into the things people need.
