Nordegg
Interpretive Centre
 At the
Nordegg Interpretive Centre, visitors can learn about the early Canadian history
of coal mining. The Nordegg Interpretive Centre is located on the access road in
Nordegg. The governing authority is the Nordegg Historical Society.
The
collection at the museum is abundant, and includes many photographs, artifacts
and archives, which help visitors learn more about the community and history of
Nordegg and area, as well as the coal mining industry in Alberta from 1911 to
1955.
There are
also guided tours in the summer of the old mine site and the buildings and
structures that remain today. The society continues to restore and stabilize the
mine structures to continually offer more to the people who come to see the
interpretive centre.
