Welcome to Alberta's Natural Resources

Brownvale North Peace Agricultural Museum

Steam Tractor, n.d., Suffield. The Brownvale North Peace Agricultural Museum is an interesting place to see. There are many artifacts including farm machinery, with over 30 tractors dating back to 1900, road-building equipment and horse-powered equipment. What makes these machines special is that they are the only ones in the province and most have an interesting history attached to them. The museum collection also includes items donated by George McKenzie, a man who has been collecting artifacts since 1955. The museum is certainly an agricultural and a historic attraction not to be missed.

This collection of agricultural equipment also includes items that illustrate and bring to life the early history of Alberta agriculture. There is horse-powered equipment, construction equipment, and even a newly restored post office where a visitor can buy old-fashioned stamp collections. There are also other restored buildings to visit. In addition, there is an 18-foot-high bucking Brahma bull that was made for Expo '88.

The museum is located at the corner of Highway 2 and Highway 737. There is free parking, restrooms, a snack shop and wheelchair accessibility.
