Rationale
Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal students need to develop an awareness of the different Aboriginal linguistic groups in Canada, and how they relate to differences in Aboriginal culture. It is also important for students to understand the connections between language groups and how Aboriginal People migrated across Canada taking variations of the main linguistic groups with them.

- Recognize that migration affected the dispersion of language groups
- Learn new words from some of the Aboriginal language groups
