Technology Through Time

Oil well derrick, Bow Island, AlbertaJust as the resources that we develop change, so does the related technology. Technology must evolve so that resources can be developed in a more effective and efficient manner.

Throughout Alberta's resource development history, different resources have been researched and developed at different times. The Alberta Research Council (ARC) is an organization that does research on behalf of large resource development companies to come up with new and better ways to develop these resources. In this section we examine past ARC annual reports as well as some booklets published by the Friends of Reynolds-Alberta Museum Society on agriculture to trace changes in technology from the early days up to the 1950s.
