Hydrocarbon
Heroes
Nowhere else in
Canada can you find such a list of interesting characters involved in the
development of hydrocarbons. Oil, natural gas and oil sands, Alberta's
hydrocarbon heritage is filled with innovators who truly changed the face of
hydrocarbon development, and pioneered the very resource development practices
that are used across Canada today.
From Vern
"Dry Hole" Hunter, who discovered the oil beneath the famous
"Leduc No. 1" well, to Karl Clark, who pioneered the hot water
separation process for oil sands, in this section we examine some of the
characters who "made" the industry.
