Website page for Celebrating Alberta's Italian Community developed by the Heritage Community Foundation. The Celebrating Edmonton's Italian Community project is a joint initiative of the Heritage Community Foundation and the National Congress of Italian-Canadians, Edmonton District.  Its intention is to continue oral history work begun by the Dante Alighieri Society in the early 1970s and continued by Italians Settle in Edmonton Historical Society in 1982.  Adriana Albi Davies, Ph.D. Executive Director of the Heritage Community Foundation, directed research for the Italians Settle in Edmonton project and together with David Ridley, Director of Research, Heritage Community Foundation, has undertaken oral history work for the Celebrating Edmonton's Italian Community Project.  The oral history work will continue beyond the immediate development of Celebrating Alberta's Italian Community website and will document, in particular, the generations encompassed in the immigration of the 1950s onward and including younger, third and fourth generation individuals of Italian ancestry.
