The national executive of the National Congress of Italian- Canadians chose Edmonton as the site of its recent meeting which took place on May 29th to 31st. The policy of holding meetings at various locations across the country is intended to bring national and regional Congresses together for the sharing of information on a variety of issues that will have an impact on Italian Canadians. |

In 1887, Giovanni Battista Scalabrini created a congregation of missionaries to serve the Italian immigrants; they established churches, helped compatriots celebrate births and deaths, and adapt to their new lives in Little Italy. |
