Executive Council, also
known as the Cabinet, is comprised of the Premier, as President of
the Executive Council and those individuals the Premier selects from
amongst elected government members to serve as Ministers.
Cabinet
is the corporate framework within which members of the Executive
Council undertake the various activities associated with their
collective Ministerial responsibility. In addition to the legal
responsibilities associated with passing Orders-in-Council, Cabinet
ratifies policy matters and is also the final authority on a wide
range of strategic issues associated with the day-to-day operation
of Government. The Cabinet appointed on March 19, 2001, consists of
24 Ministers, including the Premier.
