Background Information for Teachers
The web pages that make up the Edukit will help provide that information. They explore the history, conflicts, and attempts at resolution. These web pages examine the development of the region that was formerly the British mandate of Palestine and is now known as Israel and the Occupied Territories. They provide many examples of the development of national identity, the process of globalization, and the role of world organizations in bringing peace to places of conflict.
There are two main sections here for teachers. The first is the Background Information for Teachers, which is an expanded and detailed version of the text material selected in the Student Zone. The second consists of Instructional Plans, a series of multimedia and media-savvy instructional activities designed to use the resources available in the Edukit and from other resources.
